XRPL meme coin risks & rug-pull red flags
A checklist of rug-pull warning signs for XRPL tokens: non-blackholed issuers, dev wallets, thin AMM liquidity, fake socials and more.
Meme coins are among the riskiest assets in crypto. On the XRPL, these are the warning signs to check before buying:
- Issuer not blackholed – the issuer can mint more supply at any time.
- Concentrated supply – a few wallets (often the dev) hold a large share; check the rich list on XRPScan / XRPL Meta.
- Tiny or removable liquidity – if the creator owns the AMM LP tokens they can pull liquidity (“rug”).
- Copycat tickers – same name as a popular token but different issuer.
- Freeze / clawback flags – issuers with Clawback or freeze enabled can seize or lock balances.
- Paid hype only – new accounts, bot-filled Telegram, influencer shills, “guaranteed” returns.
- Wash-traded volume – high volume but few unique traders.
- Pressure to sign – urgent airdrop/claim sites asking you to sign transactions or enter your secret.
Never share your family seed / secret numbers. No legit project will ask for them.
